Om Structural Details
Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. It may appear at first as if too much attention to details is given in the examples on the design of joints, beams, and trusses. It is believed, however, that the importance of care ful study of every detail can only thus be properly emphasized. In practice it seems to be the exception rather than the rule to give the same attention to details of timber structures as to those of steel. In the interest of sound engineering practice it is essential that all connections and details have the same degree of security as the framed members.
