Om How to be a Dog
John Davies was born and raised in Port Talbot, South Wales into a mining family, and began writing in 2002 when he retired after thirty years as a chemist with BP Chemicals. John says that he only started writing for children after his granddaughter, Freya, was born in 2010. John now has a second granddaughter - Freya's sister, Ayla, born in February 2013. He has previously published works with a strong Welsh influence, including Hewl: Stori Geraint Griffiths and Chester to Chepstow, and the children's picture book, Trevor the One-Eyed Tractor. Following the publication of Darren the Dragon, the first in John's children's picture book series, in 2013, the next instalment, Darren and the Draaken, was released in 2014, with the third Darren and Derwyn due for publication in early 2015. John intends to carry on writing within the genre, as he believes it satisfies his own childish nature!
