Kort om boken
Om Current Research on Optical Materials
The electronics industry in Taiwan has shifted its emphasis from consumer- to information-based products. It is enjoying the bulk of the world market in computer motherboards, keyboards, scanners and PC monitors.Optoelectronics is a growing sub-group within information-based electronics. In addition to the established areas, other technologies such as optical storage, optical signal processing, optical switching and transmission are emerging. Research efforts at universities and research institutions are strongly supported by the official bodies of the government. The articles collected in this volume are contributed by the most active researchers in the area of optics and photonics in Taiwan. The subject areas covered such as Optical Materials, Devices and Systems are by no means representative of the breadth nor depth of optical research in Taiwan. Instead, they offer a snapshot of the ongoing work that will lead to success in the commercial world in future.Contents:High Quality InP Epitaxial Growth Using Flow Rate Modulation Metalorganic Chemical Vapor Deposition (M K Lee & C C Hu)Electroabsorption of Unstrained InGaAs/InAlGaAs Multiple Quantum Well Structure Grown on GaAs Substrates (C-T Lee & T-E Nee)Passive Mode-Locking Techniques of Lasers (C C Yang et al.)Nickel-Indiffusion Waveguide for TE-TM Mode Splitter in Lithium Niobate (W-S Wang et al.)Dual Antiresonant Reflecting Optical Waveguide Devices (Y-T Huang et al.)Numerical Analysis of Nonlinear Directional Couplers (C-H Lai et al.)Quantum-Mechanical Calculations of Resonant Semiconductor Devices: A QMWI Approach (H-H Tung & C-P Lee)The Performance Hg0.8Cd0.2Te Photoconductors by Using Photo Surface Treatment (Y K Su & C T Lin)Electro-Optic Characterization of Microwave Standing Waves in a GaAs Transmission Line by Using a Novel Phase Analyzing Technique (C-L Pan et al.)Real-Time Shift-Invariant Optical Pattern Recognition: A Review (Y-S Cheng)A Holographic Memory for Digital Data Storage (C P Yang et al.)Investigation of Multiwavelength Optical Power Limiting Amplifier and Its Applications in High-Speed SONET Wavelength-Division Multiplexing Self-Healing Ring Network (Y-K Chen et al.)Readership: Researchers in optics and laser physics, and electrical & electronic engineers.Key Features:Offers a short and concise biography of Lighthill, with a description of both his life and his workDescribes a wide variety of major contributions of Lighthill, accompanied by his pioneering work on several fields of modern fluid mechanicsProvides a lot of information that puts the reader at the forefront of current researchServes as a research reference book and will prove invaluable to college and university libraries that support active research in applied mathematics, fluid mechanics and engineering science
