Text in German. This volume is the first edition of an 8.80m long demotic account papyrus -- one of the longest extant papyri. P Carlsberg 409 provides detailed information on the delivery and distribution of wine at Edfu in the year 132/131 BC, i.e. the 39th regnal year of Ptolemy VIII Euergetes II. The edition contains a palaeographical and philological commentary as well as a study of the administration and economy of the Horus temple at Edfu in Upper Egypt.
