Christian von Ehrenfels’s study On the Qualities of Form laid the basis for Gestalt psychology, yet also enriched other areas of philosophy. This first publication of Ehrenfels’s dissertation compiles essays on the Gestalt concept; the essays track its development; explore ontological, metaphysical, and societal issues; and discuss implications for aesthetics and the ontology of art.
