This accessible account details the governmental changes introduced by devolution that resulted in transformative roles for women in Welsh politics. By examining how women activists used opportunities afforded by constitutional reform to further gender equality and female political participation, this study discusses the steps that led to such a high proportion of elected women representatives in Wales and the rest of the United Kingdom.
