Policy and Legal Challenges
This legislative study examines the challenges of food e-commerce, particularly with regard to food safety and consumer protection, looking at how – and if – different legal systems have addressed this phenomenon from a regulatory standpoint. This study identifies several recommendations to guide policymakers in their mission to build effective regulatory mechanisms towards safety and compliance on food e-commerce channels. Digital editions of FAO publications are available on the FAO website as part of FAO’s Open Access policy.
