When first undergoing treatment for cancer, Sigourney Cheek sometimes didn't have the energy to do anything more than sleep. So she created an e-mail list of eighteen people and logged on to give updates when she could. Soon that list grew to 160 contacts, forming a sacred community of healing in cyberspace.
